About this blog

In this blog I describe my personal experiences with selected iPhone Apps. I will not repeat a feature list, or copy screenshots or text from elsewhere - I suppose that my readers will find the description in the Appstore (mostly I will add a link to the Appstore to my posts), and are interested in user experiences before they decide whether they should buy or not.

Starmap Pro

Starmap Pro is a very impressive piece of software - it is hard to believe that such a rich choice of features can be realised on a mobile device. There are very few other iPhone apps with a similarly rich set of features.
I tried several astronomy Apps on Windows PCs, on my Mac and on the iPhone, and really none came even close to it. Starmap Pro should make even somewhat serious amateur astronomers quite happy. It is fast, stable, easy to work with (taking into account the complexity of the matter and the numerous features). If you own a telescope and use it from time to time, this is for you. If you are an occasional star gazer, you may save some money and go for the slightly reduced "Starmap" (less stars, no support for telescopes, eye pieces etc.)

I will not repeat the author's app description here - just follow the [Appstore link]

Check out the author's website and enjoy the rather long demo video - worth it!
